Penelope L. Hefner

Penelope Hefner was born in Athens, Greece and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina where she attended Myers Park High School and graduated in 2001.  Penelope attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in English and Spanish and graduated with honors.  She then attended the law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  While there, Penelope was the secretary of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, a staff writer and editor of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal, a member of the Moot Court Negotiation Team, and completed over 75 hours of pro bono service. She was a summer associate at James, McElroy, and Diehl and previously interned with Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont and Family Court Judge Ben Thalheimer.  Penelope graduated and was admitted to the bar in 2007.  She is a member the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and President of the Union County Bar Association. Penelope is a board member of the Union Symphony Orchestra. She is also a member of the Monroe Rotary, and is serving as the Spring Fundraiser Chair.
